 Alisha Ortiz  12/29/95-6/15/13

Alisha lost her battle with brain cancer on June 15, 2013.

A courageous young lady full of life, with a beautiful smile and who never complained about her battle and pain.
A student at Edgewater High School in Orlando, Florida who participated in the Community Based Vocational Education Program… the non-paid community-based vocational educational (CBVE) program is designed to provide students with disabilities with real life vocational experiences at local cooperating businesses.

The program at Edgewater High School is at Florida Hospital.  Alisha volunteered four days a week in Nutritional Services   with chef “Vinnie”, from Italy, who taught her how to make pizzas from scratch. He gave her a pizza which she prepared to take home. She was very proud of her accomplishments and it was apparent in her eyes.  She was very happy at her training site and had many friends. At the end of the school year she became very ill and traveled to the New York Presbyterian hospital children's cancer ward.

After two months we lost Alisha. The students in the (CBVE) program in Orlando, Florida, her teachers, and staff at Florida Hospital will miss our sweet friend Alisha.

Recently, during treatment at Arnold Palmer Children's Hospital Alisha met Talia Castellano, a teen make-up artist who also lost her battle with cancer.  Now both of them are looking at us from above.

Alisha was raised by her grandmother who only had enough money to cover her funeral arrangement but can not afford to get her headstone.

Our goal is to raise a thousand dollars to cover the cost of her headstone.  Please donate what you can no donation is small. Use the paypal button below.  And remember when you give you get.
